After living a quiet life in West Virginia, I currently reside in Hilliard along with my husband and two sons. I have always had a passion for animals. During my childhood I loved to spend time with my uncle and my grandfather on their farms caring for the animals. I attended Webster College in Fairmont, WV and Columbus State in Columbus, OH. I worked as a Medical Assistant but always knew that someday I would work with animals.

In 2000 I started Cheryl's Pet Sitting Service. I felt so bad for the dogs that were caged 9-10 hours a day while their owners were away, so I decided to open a dog daycare where the dogs could run freely with their buddies, have a great time and be completely worn out at night. It is so rewarding to see the dogs scratching at the door of the daycare waiting to get in to play with their friends or when I am rocking a puppy that needs a little TLC.

I know I have made a difference in these dogs and dog owner's lives. Along with being a wife, mother, pet sitter and dog daycare owner, I am happy to say I do rescue work. I also offer my daycare several times a week to Capital Area Humane Society so that the dogs that have been confined are able to get out and play. These dogs have to meet the same criteria as the daycare dogs: healthy, up to date on shots, on flea control and interact well with other dogs. To date, I have placed over 40 dogs, including 19 Hurricane Katrina dogs.

I absolutely love the dogs and the owners. I feel I have the best job in the world, not everyone can say that.
