Here at Cheryl's Doggie Daycare we are teaming up with Paws Away Rescue, Eaton, Indiana and Save A Pet Organization Dothan, Alabama in order to arrange a rescue effort to save dogs that have been affected by Hurricane Katrina. Paws Away Rescue will be providing transportation from Alabama and Cheryl will be traveling to Indiana to transport dogs back to Columbus. Jane Ammon of Save A Pet Organization, which is partnered with the Dothan Alabama Animal Shelter, reports that the facility is currently housing upwards of 300 animals. She also reports that during the last hurricane in the area they took in approximately 600 animals.
